Each computer is loaded with free education software to help students with their courses. A kick off rally was held at Gompers Middle School. The 3rd Annual Muffins with Moms event is an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate parent involvement, community involvement, literacy and mathematics. Mothers and community representatives have an opportunity to listen to students read and participate in math activities to increase student achievement.

Despite the rough reputation it has earned over the years, at its heart, Boyle Heights is a community rich with culture and history. This video takes us into the homes of Betty, Diana, Oscar, and Perla and shows us their families and neighborhood.

Although the students of Roosevelt High School may not have as many resources available to them as students from other schools, they are able to overcome these obstacles through their hard work and determination to succeed.

For many of the students at Roosevelt High School, attaining a college education is not a priority. And for the few that do go on to college, the vast majority attends east LA City College or a Cal State. As a reward for their academic excellence, these four students were given the opportunity to travel across the country to visit one of the world's most prestigious universities, Harvard.

By visiting Harvard and hearing Roosevelt alumnus Juan's advice on getting into college, these students were not only able to see a world beyond Boyle Heights and the Roosevelt campus, but also expand their ideas of what is possible.

Santee Education Complex treated the students of San Pedro Elementary School to a Dr. Seuss day. Activities include coloring, reading, to eating green eggs and ham.
